LAWN FUNGUS PROBLEMS
Wet periods may case fungus to grow in lawns.  This problem usually remedies itself as drier conditions return.  You may also mow off the mushroom tops to reduce the spread of the fungus.

Rust is another fungus that is common in lawns.  The rust looks like an orange powder, and rubs off on shoes and other materials.  Rust is found in lawns under stress from lack of nitrogen and moisture.  Applying a high-nitrogen fertilizer and mowing frequently helps the lawn combat the fungus.  Fungicides can be applied if the disease is severe.
